- Preventive care: Most Guardian plans offer 100% coverage for preventive services, including routine cleanings, exams, and X-rays.
- Basic services: This category usually includes fillings and non-surgical extractions. Depending on the plan you have, coverage may range from 50% to 80%.
- Major services: Things like crowns, dentures, and other major services are usually 50% covered, though the Premier plan offers 60% coverage, and the Starter plan does not cover major services at all.
- Some Guardian plans also provide partial coverage for orthodontia and teeth whitening.
Keep in mind that PPO plans tend to have an annual maximum, which is a yearly limit on the amount that Guardian will pay for approved services within a calendar year. Since our practice is in-network with Guardian, we have a contract that manages fees. Therefore, you can expect to get more value out of your maximum when you visit us, rather than an out-of-network provider.
In some cases, we can even split up major treatments between calendar years so you can utilize two annual maximums instead of only one.
